CoolSculpting vs. Liposuction – Which is the Better Choice for You?

CoolSculpting vs Liposuction

You can only do so much to camouflage unsightly bulges and bumps beneath your clothes. Unfortunately, there are some areas that resist every crunch, boot camp, and mile you run leaving you to consider liposuction or CoolSculpting as a viable alternative. But, how do you know which is the better choice for your body and your needs? Both offer many benefits, but for some people, one is better than the other. These are a few of the things you should consider when choosing between the two.

How Liposuction Works

Liposuction is the most popular cosmetic procedure performed in the U.S. according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. It involves a series of tiny incisions, the addition of IV fluids to the target area, and the use of local anesthetic. Once an appropriate amount of fluid is injected, a candela is used to suction the fluids out along with the fat that is in the area. Because the fat cells are removed through the suctioning process, they won’t come back. The final result is a dramatic reduction in unwanted fat bulges.
Advantages of liposuction include the fact that it offers immediate results, better contouring, and a more robust elimination of fat. Liposuction can also be combined with skin tightening technologies and, in some cases, opens the doors for other surgical options.

How CoolSculpting Works

The CoolSculpting process is a non-invasive, FDA cleared procedure that cools or freezes the fat cells. The freezing process can reduce fat in the targeted area by up to 25 percent over the course of one to three treatment cycles. The procedure involves marking the treatment area, protecting the skin with a gel pad, then applying the applicator to the target area. When this is done, the vacuum will be turned on, sucking the fat bulge into a cup that effectively freezes the fat cells, but leaves your muscles, nerves, and skin undamaged.

CoolSculpting may not provide the dramatic results of liposuction but it offers a considerably lower price point for many procedures, a huge reduction in down time, and fewer risks than surgical procedures for fat removal.

The decision can be difficult to make on a personal basis. If you are considering CoolSculpting in Burbank, schedule a consultation with New Image Body Sculpting first. We can help you determine whether CoolSculpting or liposuction is the right option for you.
